FAQs
How does Atlas HXM’s Employer of Record (EOR) pricing work?
With Atlas HXM, you pay the following costs per employee:
Monthly Platform Fee: This is a monthly administrative fee per employee hired through our EOR platform.
Local Employer Services (LES) Rate: This blended rate covers the mandatory costs and contributions of complying with employment laws, taxes, and regulations, and the overall costs of doing business in a chosen country.
Foreign Exchange (F/X): A rate applicable for the service of converting invoice currency into the local currency if different.
Benefits Administration: Premiums for additional benefits coverage for employees.
How does Atlas HXM’s Visa and Global Mobility pricing work?
Every country has unique immigration laws and requirements, which can make it a long and difficult process when you need talent outside their country of citizenship or permanent residency. In such instances, Atlas HXM ensures that your employees have the appropriate work authorization, visas, and other documentation to start working wherever you choose.
Where required, visa sponsorship is an extra charge on top of the Employer of Record service fee. This is charged on a per-visa basis. The Atlas HXM team will work with you to determine the appropriate work permit category for your employees and provide end-to-end support in the visa application process.
How does the cost of working with Atlas HXM compare to setting up company-owned entities?
Working with an EOR provider, like Atlas HXM, allows you to circumvent a lot of the costs associated with setting up your own entities, including entity incorporation fees, legal fees, and local accounting costs. As such, working with Atlas HXM means that you could save as much as 83% on the costs of hiring abroad compared to doing it yourself. *
* Average calculations at the time of publication based on an organization in the United States employing one employee in the United Kingdom at a gross annual salary equivalent to USD $50,000.
Does Atlas HXM provide volume discounts for larger teams?
Our pricing structure is there to support your growth, so as your business expands, you can benefit from economies of scale and drive down the total cost of doing business with us.
Some of the aspects that drive overall pricing are:
The number of employees.
The employees’ gross salary
The Local Employer Services (LES) Rate, based on the specific country/countries of employment
Plus, any other non-discretionary additional requirements that you may need.
What happens if I need to terminate an employee or an employee resigns?
With an international workforce, it is important to consider local employment law and regulations concerning notice periods and severance payment when terminating an employee. Partnering with an EOR means that all employee terminations are conducted in full adherence with local laws, keeping you informed throughout the process, and mitigating any risk of or challenge to a decision to terminate. Atlas HXM follows best practices in offboarding employees, including the signing of a mutual termination agreement, ensuring that the employment ends cleanly and compliantly.
Similarly, if an employee resigns, they will follow all local statutory requirements and the specific terms and conditions laid out in their employment agreement.
What’s the difference between AOR and EOR?
EOR is for employees; AOR is for independent contractors. Under Employer of Record (EOR), Atlas HXM becomes the legal employer and runs payroll. Under AOR, Atlas HXM has no employment relationship with the contractor — it acts only as your authorized agent, and you contract with the contractor directly. The two are execution paths that follow from the worker classification decision, not competing products.
What’s the difference between AOR and Contractor of Record (COR)?
The decisive difference is who holds the contract. Under Contractor of Record (COR), the provider becomes the contracting party with the contractor. Under AOR, you keep the direct contract with the contractor and the provider acts only as your authorized agent. Atlas HXM offers AOR, not COR.
What does the Classification Protection cover?
If a contractor Atlas HXM has classified is later found to be misclassified, Classification Protection helps cover the financial costs — it is not a promise that a classification is guaranteed “correct,” or that misclassification can’t happen. Reimbursement covers documented reclassification costs, back taxes, and unpaid employer-side taxes (excluding penalties, interest, and liquidated damages), up to $100,000 per contractor per month and $1,000,000 in the aggregate per client, subject to your Atlas HXM AOR services agreement. Amounts exceeding these limits are not covered. All reimbursement claims must be made to Atlas HXM within 12 months from the latest classification assessment and no material change has occurred to the factors on which the original classification was based (including role scope, responsibilities, work location or engagement terms).
What happens when a contractor becomes an employee?
You don’t start over. Your engagement data and history carry across, Atlas HXM flags the employment need, and a specialist guides you through the move to EOR. If your classification assessment shows a worker should be an employee, the classification fees you’ve paid are credited toward your EOR engagement, subject to eligibility and terms.

Reimbursement covers documented reclassification costs, back taxes, and unpaid employer-side taxes (excluding penalties, interest, and liquidated damages), up to $100,000 per contractor and $1,000,000 in the aggregate per client, subject to eligibility and exclusions in your Atlas HXM AOR services agreement. Amounts exceeding these limits are not covered. See AOR Terms of Service for details.
Every AOR engagement begins with a worker classification assessment to determine whether a worker should be engaged as a contractor or an employee. If you move forward with AOR, the $99 assessment fee is credited toward your subscription. Conversion credit is subject to eligibility and terms. To qualify, the crediting assessment must be the first Atlas HXM classification assessment to return an "employee" outcome for the worker in question; a worker who received an "employee" outcome from an earlier assessment is not eligible. The worker must also be onboarded as a Worksite Employee (WSE) under Atlas HXM's EOR service within 30 days of the assessment result. Where circumstances outside the client's control make onboarding within 30 days impractical, Atlas HXM may apply the credit on a case-by-case basis.
Final onboarding depends on the information you and your contractor provide. SLAs measured in business days from point of client request; exclude third-party dependencies (e.g., background checks).
